This new Composite Insert for the Upper Ball Joints were developed to deal with the horrible inconsistency from the manufacturer of the knuckles.  This inconsistency is what wears Ram Ball Joints out.  The new insert allows for the misalignment, which is the cause of the stiff knuckles and memory steer.  The knuckles will move slightly less free than our videos, however, this is fine.  The self-lubricating material will not bind with friction with weight on it.

As of July 1, 2024 EMF has switched all the Upper Ball Joints in the 2013.5+ years to this material and are working at switching all the rest of the ball joints from 2000+ to this Insert as well, but in the mean time If you have a stiff knuckle, this is an inexpensive option to relieve that pressure and allows you to use the same Upper Ball Joint pin you have in the kits.

A good option

I have a pair of knuckles that are machined a bit off and bind with normal-tolerance ball joints creating horrible memory steer. I purchased a pair of composite sleeves and a pair of stiff pin eliminator kits for my 2007 3rd Gen Dodge to see which ones would solve my binding best. The composite sleeve allowed the knuckle to move better than the regular style (tight tolerance) upper ball joint but it doesn’t allow the freedom of movement (for my particular knuckle) that the stiff pin eliminator provides. I’ll be keeping these composite sleeves on hand for other future needs; I’m sure they’d work perfectly for a knuckle that’s not so far off on the machining.
