We DO NOT recommend Lithium based greases for EMF Ball Joints. It is too thin and doesn't provide the lubrication needed. Lithium grease breaks down under extreme pressure leading to reduced performance.
We DO RECOMMEND a Moly-Based Extreme Pressure (EP) Grease (usually black grease, listed as 5% Molybdenum)
EP Grease is designed for protection in applications where there is metal to metal contact under extreme pressures.
EP additives contain Sulfur Phosphorus or Chlorinated compounds. Under high pressure and temperature, these additives react with the metal surface forming a protective layer that helps prevent welding, galling, scoring and other surface damage. They also provide enhanced lubrication in boundary.
Moly Grease incorporates M052 Molybdenum Disulfide, enhancing the ability to handle high loads.
M052 acts as tiny ball bearings, preventing metal to metal contact, reducing friction. They also fill microscopic inperfections, creating a more uniform and durable lubrication film and has better adhesion.
